My name is Joakim Persson. I produce a wide variety of pop and rock music, most notably my lo-fi indie project Century Of Ecstasy and my Swedish pop project Sagan Om Alltings Förträfflighet. I also produce original music and remixes for radio, television and other media.
Besides being the songwriter behind Century Of Ecstasy and Sagan Om Alltings Förträfflighet, and being a member of Tiny Union, I also compose unique music for different media. I am published by BMG Scandinavia.
As an engineer, I record and mix a multitude of genres, ranging from pop and rock to jazz, folk and classical. Some of Sweden's finest talents rely on me to get a great sound.
I have performed and recorded with bands and artists in many genres, first and foremost as a bass player. As a singer and multi instrumentalist, I record with Tiny Union, Century Of Ecstasy and Sagan Om Alltings Förträfflighet.

Sagan Om Alltings Förträfflighet (SOAF) is my eclectic Swedish pop project. It started with me writing an entire album's worth of material in an intense six-week period in the summer of 2012. The eponymous debut album was released on March 26th, 2015. The 18 minute single "6 år", released on October 16, 2015, was a step in a new musical direction, as was the single and music video for "Jordgubbsflicka", released on February 17th 2017.SoundCloud: soundcloud.com/soafFacebook: facebook.com/saganoaf
Tiny Union is an indie pop group that I started with Isabella Sohlberg and Gustav Löfstrand in 2013. We debuted in Stockholms Sessions on YouTube with a performance of "Your Eyes On Me" in 2014. I composed and produced music together with Anton Näslund, Ivan Höglund and Julia Jonas for Nobel Creations, an exhibition at the Nobel Museum in Stockholm in 2014/2015. The music was interactive and split into 14 separate channels of audio, played back through 16 discrete speakers in the exhibition hall. We worked closely with Hans Lindetorp who created the software that controlled the playback of the music. The exhibition featured interpretations of the Nobel Prizes by students from Beckmans College of Design and from KMH (Royal College of Music in Stockholm). Read more about the exhibition here.
I mixed and mastered the eponymous debut album by folk duo Jean and the Mean machine, released in 2014 on the Jean & Jo label. The album was produced by Johannes Jacobsson."The "Riksspelman", violinist Jeanette Eriksson and the tango cellist Beata Söderberg enter into a new and playful collaboration exploring each other's musical grounds. When a "slängpolska" full of go meets the passionate Argentine tango the result is a charged fusion where the music constantly strikes out new and unexpected paths. We travel through the frosty northern winter landscape and the South American heat, from a tender reflection to a merry dance, and when the journey is over it doesn't matter whether the feet have stamped on the asphalt in Buenos Aires or on a dusty road on a spring day in southern Sweden."Visit www.jeanandjo.se for order details.
I mixed and mastered the debut album by Blue Coat Venture, released on April 13, 2015 on Pomelo Music. I also appear in the backing band live playing electric guitar. I mixed and mastered the debut album by violin duo Eriksson/Jacobsson titled 'En resa på två fioler', released in 2015 on the Jean & Jo label, and also recorded two of the songs featured on the album. The album was produced by Johannes Jacobsson."With the programme "A travel on two violins" the duo Eriksson/Jacobsson had their first tour in spring and summer 2012 with about 15 concerts around Sweden. The music is collected from the early baroque era until today. In the programme the audience will hear two duo works from the 17th century composer Vierdanck, "Gulliver Suite" by the great composer G.P. Telemann and also folk music - old tunes from the south of Sweden as well as new compositions by the master fiddler Richard Näslin."Visit www.jeanandjo.se for order details.
I composed and produced music for UR (Swedish Educational Broadcasting Company) in 2013. The show "Radioskrivarklubben - nordsamiska" featured radio drama in Northern Sami language. I worked closely with the producers and the sound engineer of the show to create music that fitted the drama perfectly.Audio (UR website): "Katten Misse och Hunden Nilsa"
I remixed the theme music for Kobra, Sweden's top culture TV show on SVT (Swedish Public Service Television Company). My remix was featured in the season premiere on March 15th 2011.
Together with Simon Johansson and Sandro Arcos Famme, I composed and produced music for an exhibition at the Stockholm City Museum. The exhibition focused on Stockholm in the world of comics and the music we made was a thirty minute multi-channel composition with motion activated sound effects. Each channel of the multi-channel composition was tailored for a specific part of the exhibition.
I record students at KMH (Royal College of Music in Stockholm) on a weekly basis - everything from solo instruments to small ensembles in the genres of jazz, folk and classical.
I co-produced and mixed the song ”Better With You” together with Isabella Sohlberg for an ad for Södra Bohuslän Turism titled ”Biking the Archipelago”. The song was written by Isabella Sohlberg and features vocals by her and her father, Robert ”Biggles” Sohlberg. Isabella also played acoustic guitars on the recording. I played electric guitars, bass and piano and Johan Salomonsson played drums.
I met Niklas Krig in 2009 while recording his band at the time, Krakatau. We co-produced his debut single "Take Me Away" in 2012, and in 2013 I mixed and mastered his debut self-titled acoustic EP. We're currently working on a new, full-band EP.SoundCloud: soundcloud.com/kriig
I joined Neal Hoffmann's indie pop group Amphibic shortly after moving to London in 2006. I played bass guitar on the group's EP "There Were Millions Of Them", forming the rhythm section with drummer Sebastian Sternberg (Marina And The Diamonds, Brett Andersson). The EP was released in 2008 on Haldern Pop Recordings and was met with positive reviews. The song "Hungry Man" off the EP made it onto American TV show Switched At Birth in January 2012.Website: amphibic.co.uk
Vikunja was a pop rock group that I founded with a few of my childhood friends sometime around 2003. The group had some initial success, signing a publishing deal with Chrysalis Scandinavia (now BMG Chrysalis) in 2007 and opening for Swedish pop giants Roxette in Ericsson Globe Arena and Malmoe Arena in 2011. Unfortunately, the group never released an album and ultimately disbanded in 2013.
Anton Näslund gathered a band in 2012 and asked me to join as the bass guitarist. We've gigged in and around Stockholm since then, bringing luxurious singer-songwriter-y pop to the crowd.SoundCloud: soundcloud.com/anton_naslund
Sadia Gaya writes emotional pop music in Swedish that has the power to make you feel both happy and sad at the same time. I've been the bass player in her live band since 2012.Website: www.sadiagaya.com
Världens Bästa Band ("The World's Greatest Band") is a cover band in which I'm the bass player and sometimes the sound engineer. The band is a motley crew of near-veteran rock 'n' rollers and a few young guns... We've played a handful of much appreciated shows each year since 2010.
I mastered the debut EP by Swedish pop group Nonsens, released on January 22nd 2015.SoundCloud: soundcloud.com/nonsensmusic
J.P. & Paperbag Man was a pseudonym I created for this version of "We All Wear Cloaks", a song off Beck's Song Reader project, in 2013. Apart from producing it and playing all the instruments, I also made this lo-fi music video.
Fedra is Isabella Sohlberg's Swedish pop project. I worked closely with Isabella and her band in 2013, recording demos of their songs, and also appeared in a Stockholm Sessions live video playing electric guitar with them.SoundCloud: soundcloud.com/fedrabella
Latin Mix was a talented youth orchestra in which I played bass guitar circa 1999-2005. The repertoire focused on Cuban and Brazilian music and the orchestra played frequent shows in southern Sweden, as well as made brief tours of Denmark and Switzerland. Latin Mix played at the Swiss national exposition Expo.02 in May 2002, and in August that same year the orchestra was awarded "Best Youth Jazz" at the Helsingborg Jazz Festival.
I played bass in the school band Fartygsorkestern at Kattegattgymnasiet during my upper secondary school years 2002-2005. The much appreciated band played a rock and pop repertoire. In July 2005, members of the band, including myself, acted as the house band at a benefit concert for Djurens Ratt (Swedish animal rights group) in Bastad, Sweden. The concert featured sets by Nick Borgen and Susie Päivärinta (of Lili & Susie fame), backed by Fartygsorkestern.
'Explorers' single by Century Of Ecstasy.
